The Right Time To Plant A Tree..
I have a handful of private blogs and this is my second open blog. I don't blog in open setting..lol. The intention of this blog is to keep track of projects I do for my little Octopi and my online store.
Sunday is never my sewing day. I cook from Sun up to Sun down. Every magazine in India would have published an poem or article how everyone in the family gets the Sundays off but never the moms or the female head of the household. Today was a rare day that I got to sew. Kids were chilling in the tub. I had already chopped the fabric during the week days, so it was jumping right to sewing.
I used McCalls M5835 pattern. I have adored flutter style for the last 2 years, made 2 tops which ended up way too lose and I never tried again. DD who is 5.5 year old is super skinny and needs any pattern to be tweaked to her size. When purchasing ready to wear, she can fit into a 4T width but wud need a 6-7 for height. So I narrowed the pattern yoke and altered the neck to fit her needs. I used her store bought capri for the capri pants and self drafted the bottom finish in the pant.
The story behind the fabric is - The fabric was bought few years back to be made into a nightgown for then newborn baby, the ideas constantly changed as the child's size grew. I planned it to become a pj pant, then a dress and today it has turned out to a top and capri.
To quote the Chinese Proverb “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Your fabric yardage wudn't grow but your kids would. Do the project you are holding off now
